She possesses extensive knowledge of the special education and IEP process, having spent over ten years working within the public education system. Stacia has successfully partnered with families to advocate for their child’s needs and navigate the school system effectively.

Miesha Dorsey
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Miesha Dorsey is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and clinical supervisor at Houston In-Home ABA Group. Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Miesha brings over a decade of experience providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services across the United States. Her professional journey has taken her to cities including Chicago, IL; Louisville, KY; and New Orleans, LA. She relocated to Houston, Texas in 2021 following Hurricane Ida.
Miesha earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan. She later completed her ABA coursework at the Florida Institute of Technology, where she studied under the late Dr. Jose Martinez-Diaz. Inspired by her Criminal Justice professor, Dr. Witowski, who recognized her passion for supporting individuals with special needs, Miesha became a BCBA in 2013.
Her dedication to helping those with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges began at a young age, caring for her step-sister who developed a chronic illness. She later volunteered with JARC in Farmington Hills, Michigan, eventually working there as a direct support professional during and after college. At JARC, she supported clients in building independence through self-help and daily living skills—work she continues with pride as a BCBA.
Throughout her career, Miesha has worked with individuals of all ages across home, school, and community settings. Her approach centers on empowering others to gain independence, develop meaningful life skills, and advocate for themselves.
Outside of her professional work, Miesha enjoys spending quality time with her husband, family, and their beloved “baby boy,” Louie the puppy. She loves exploring Houston’s trails, and often travels back to New Orleans and Michigan to visit family and friends—including Milo, the family’s cherished standard poodle.
